Increasing the understanding of the financial proposition of cogeneration technology in different applications among businesses policymakers and stakeholders is the key purpose of the project. CHP is a key technology in decreasing carbon intensity of the process heat used across manufacturing. The work will especially address the needs of the four target market sectors (food/drinks, paper, hospitals and commercial premises). Special emphasis will be given to SMEs, where current knowledge is limited and CCS applications will not be feasible mainly due to economic reasons.

To this end the project will develop several tools to improve the use of cogeneration. One of the main tools will be “How-to” guides addressing the target market sectors. These can be used by the businesses, local authorities or other professional groups interested in expanding CHP deployment.

In addition, best practice examples are available in order to highlight successful application of CHP in various industry sectors.
